As managers, we also need to do our part to help our team members.
Acknowledge their feelings and insights
During this time, you should acknowledge what they are feeling. Do not invalidate and let your employees know it’s normal to feel that way. It will also help if you provide an open time where your team members can call you up. Keeping your channel open can go a long way.
Show them how you handle the situation
It’s time to lead by example. You can share with them your coping mechanism. You can even share fun videos and photos of how you do things. This may inspire them to stay active and to lessen their worries.
Be on the lookout for a sudden change in behavior
You also need to sit down and try to observe behavior changes with your employees. See if there is a drastic decline in productivity. If yes, you can have a one-on-one session with your team members so you can assist them accordingly.

Most of us are still adjusting to the new normal. Others are still challenged to work from home. Perhaps, you can offer these tips to your employees.
We don’t mean that you have to wear your blazers or your coat. But dressing up before work can shift your mood. It helps you prepare what you need to complete for the day. We understand that it can be tempting to wear your pajamas the whole day. But to boost your energy, drop your PJs and wear something you can comfortably wear even outdoors.
Have a fixed schedule
It would help if you also plot your schedule. Of course, it would be ideal if this will be the same with your group so that it will be easier to collaborate.
Set up a work area
You should also have a dedicated area for your work. We’re sure some of you are still using the dining table or beds. But if you want to be productive, we recommend allotting space where you can focus more and finish your deliverables.

There are a lot of distractions when you work from home. It could be Netflix, or social media, or even the news. This is where your dedicated space and schedule can help. You should also turn off your notification and check your social media accounts after your work.

Do not hesitate to communicate with your group. If you have questions, go ahead and ask them right away. Plus, socializing a bit is healthy. In fact, it can improve your productivity. So perhaps you can have lunch together via Zoom or have a night out through video calls.
