Well Being March 26, 2020 Barbara 0

Almost everyone is affected by the coronavirus crisis. And truth be told, a lot of people are getting sick not because of the virus itself but because of fear. If you are one of these people, then this post can certainly help you. It’s important that you are mentally fit, most especially in these trying times. But how can you do that? Go ahead and scroll down.
Be mentally fit with these tips
Communicate with your families and friends
We understand that we need to practice social distancing, but this doesn’t mean you have to cut ties with the people outside your homes. According to The Conversation, social distancing is different from social isolation. And we couldn’t agree more.
We have to be thankful that our technology allows us to connect even with people who are miles away from us. It’s about time to send them messages, have a video call, or send an email. Just ask them how they are doing. Trust us, they need to feel loved and cared for too.
Eat right
You have to eat nutritious food now more than ever. It’s not just for your immune system, but healthy food is also linked to having a better state of mind. For some, stress eating might be the solution to conceal the effects of the crisis. But you have to think long term. There is still a future waiting for us and you have to be healthier and stronger to face it.
Exercise even at the comforts of your home
Don’t underestimate the power of working out or physical exercise. In other parts of the globe, people are not allowed to go outside. But that should not be an excuse to be a couch potato. We’ve seen a lot of people using Facebook Live to host Zumba sessions. Others are also using YouTube videos and work out. There are several apps that can help you too. Again, we are quite lucky to be in the age where technology has given us so much power even if we stay at home.
Do mental exercises
You can also do mental exercises with your family or friends. Do you still have your old board games? If yes, it’s time to put it out and use it. Reading is also a good activity to maintain your mental health’s optimal state. Write a song. Write a blog. Or even create a new hobby.
Relax and Have Fun
For some people, if you feel that this is the time to rest from the busy life you had, then so be it. Fix your body clock and sleep on time. You can also start to meditate. And believe it or not, doing silly things can be healthy too. If you want to do crazy videos on TikTok, then feel free to do so. Be a source of joy as well.
Conclusion
We know that some of these things are easier said than done because until now, the coronavirus is still haunting millions of people. But your worries will not help you either. We have to face a new reality. That means your routines might need to change as well. Make sure you start it right.
