If you are a teacher, you would probably agree with me when I say that you are extremely busy most days of the week. But that is not an excuse for you not to exercise. As you may have already known, exercising is beneficial for our health. In fact, you are to become more productive when you exercise instead of trying to drown yourself in lesson plans without breaks. So what are the best (easy) ones that you can do? This post will help you.
What are the best exercises for teachers?
Are you familiar with quick feet?
This is a nice exercise that you can do while sitting on your chair. Bend your knees and imitate a running movement. Do it as fast as you can and try to sustain the energy for the whole minute. It can be tiring but it’s all worth it.
Try to do simple arm circles
What we love about arm circles is that it is very simple to do. Reach your shoulders with your fingers and do a backward circular motion. Do this for around 50 times. You can do this routine while taking a break from checking papers, right?
What can you do during long lunch breaks?
Walk around
Instead of just sitting on your chair or spending the entire break at the teacher’s lounge, might as well use the spare time to flex those muscles. Why don’t you walk around the campus? Say hi to your students and other teachers! It’s good for the body, plus you are also improving your emotional health.
Do creative activities in the classroom
And if you can, make sure to come up with creative activities for your class. If possible, require them to move around, and of course, join them too. This is a great learning method and it avoids having a sedentary lifestyle. Here are some samples of classroom activities you can use:
- Go outside of the classroom and get them inspired by the outdoors
- Have a ‘fitness’ day for your class
- Create ‘giant’ games like Jenga or Chess
- Ask them to change seats
We’re pretty sure you can think of other ideas and feel free to share it with us.
What about your food and drinks?
And since we are talking about health, it is also important that you choose the right foods and drinks. It’s not enough that you exercise. It should be a combination of right food and an active lifestyle.
Stay away from instant foods
If you want to stay healthy, please stay away from instant foods. More often that not, it contains ingredients which can harm your body overtime. And if you want to bring your snacks, try to have fruits instead of potato chips.
You don’t have the time to prepare meals at night?
The next best solution is to order it from small business owners. The demand is rising so you would see a number of individuals selling packed healthy meals. You can actually choose a weekly plan and spare yourself from doing your groceries.
So, have a change of lifestyle. After all, we badly need healthy teachers to educate the next generation.
