Your bathroom might only take up a small space in your house, but it is important that you keep it ‘healthy’ and safe for the whole family. How do you do this? We have some tips for you. Some of it are too practical, but of course, it wouldn’t hurt to have you reminded of these.
Making your bathroom healthy and safe
Invest a good bidet
Instead of using toilet paper, you might want to consider getting a bidet. Obviously, it cleans better plus you don’t have to spend money for your regular supply of toilet paper. There are bidets which are outrageously expensive but you can always choose the average ones as it should work the same. Here are our recommendations:
- Brondell Luxury Hand Held
- Gobidet 2003c Chrome Attachment
- Bio Bidet Elite 3
Remember to close the toilet seat before you flush
When you are about to flush, make sure that you close your toilet seat first. Even if you don’t see it, the water from the toilet can propel to your toothbrush when you flush (unless you have a big bathroom and your toilet and sink are at least 6 feet away from each other). We would also not recommend covering your toothbrush because it needs air and it also needs to dry.
Try not to use chemical toilet cleaners
If you must know, chemicals from your toilet cleaners cannot be removed even at sewage treatment plants. These are just diluted. Thus, it is recommended that you use a brush to clean your toilet seat instead of chemicals which you sometimes dispense every time you flush.
Consider dual flush toilet
It is also advisable to get a dual flush for your toilet. This is a great idea because you can control the water depending on your need (or what you did). If you have an older type of toilet, you can simply retrofit. Remember, a lot of people are experiencing a water shortage. You might be doing something simple, but it can help big time.
Choose a non-slip tile for your bathroom
Did you know that a lot of people die because they slipped in the shower? Thus, it is a must that you choose non-slippery tiles or at least have a rubber mat. Trust us, this will save lives.
Be picky with your bathroom products
In order to be healthy, make sure that you carefully choose your bathroom products. There are a lot of natural and organic soaps and shampoos to choose from. You might want to try those and start helping our environment.
Have your fan regularly checked
It is a must that you regularly check the fan of your bathroom. Make sure that it isn’t clogged and it runs smoothly. Otherwise, you might need to have it cleaned or changed.
Again, that small space in your house badly needs to be checked.
