A lot of people spend most of their time in the office and you begin to wonder, can you live a healthy lifestyle amidst all the stress, meetings, and paperwork? Well, the good news is – we can! This post will give you some tips on how you can live healthily even while you are in the office.

How can you stay healthy in the office?

Prepare healthy snacks nearby

If your vending machine has a lot of temptations like chocolates and cookies, it’s about time that you bring your own healthy snack. You can buy a bag of nuts and prepare it in small packages every day. Or maybe you can have banana or apples instead of cakes. For those who love chips, then baking kale might be the best solution.

In addition, try to make your own lunch. This will make you more conscious about the ingredients you put into your meal. Try to make a simple healthy sandwich or pasta. You wouldn’t run short of recipes to do as you can find a lot online.

Stand up!

We know that you have hundreds of emails to respond to and a lot of reports to finish. But that doesn’t mean you should sit the entire work shift. Make it a point to stand up and if possible (most especially when you are using a laptop), go find a high table where you can work and stand up at the same time. Similarly, go for a short walk during breaks. It can be at the nearby park or just around your office where you can say hi to your friends and colleagues.

Have some stress relieving toys

There are days when your job can be stressful. Don’t let that get into you and instead, have an instant outlet. You can have a stress ball beside you or a coloring book. Just think of an activity that can help you relax when your emotions are too intense.

Don’t forget about your eyes

With all the hours spent in front of your computer, you might be damaging your eyes. Don’t forget to give it a rest once in a while.

Ditch the elevator

Use the stairs instead. When your floor is just too high, then try going down three floors before it and walk your way up. You might want to bring your walking shoes and just change into your corporate pair once you’re already in the office.

Take a nap

Yes, a quick nap will do you good. It is healthy and can even make you more productive. If you have an employee lounge where you can have a quick sleep, take advantage of it. You would be surprised how rejuvenating it could be.

Water – more water!

Never underestimate the power of hydration. Have a nice tumbler where you will be more ‘inspired’ to drink. Drinking lots of water can even help in minimizing the risk of headaches, which we all get when we have deadlines to meet.
