1. Eat your veggies; The greener the better
Deeply coloured fruits and vegetables are a key part of an anti-inflammatory diet.
According to Doctor Perry, chief medical director and co-founder of Laser Spine Institute, olive oil, green tea, and brightly coloured fruits and vegetables have been shown to reduce inflammation in cartilage in the spinal column which helps to control back pain.
Try to look for foods that are loaded with nutrition.
Here are some of them:
1. Carrots
2. Beetroots
3. Sweet potatoes
4. Berries
5. Watermelon
Apart from fruits, there are other herbs and spices that are rich in anti-inflammatory agents.
6. Basil
7. Cinnamon
8. Ginger
9. Garlic
10. Onions
These foods are good in fighting against back pains.
What you should not eat
Remember that inflammatory is a known cause for back pains?
Avoid eating nightshade vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplant, white potatoes, and peppers.
Although there has not been any research to support this, many people avoid these vegetables as a part of an anti-inflammatory diet.
If you are having regular back pains and are also taking in such vegetables, we suggest that you take in lesser of these vegetables.
Other foods to avoid include processed foods, fast foods, and saturated fats.
All these foods fuel inflammation which can cause your back pains to worsen. This also includes white bread, pasta, rice, sugary drinks, and fried foods. We understand that bread, rice, and pasta is a staple part of your daily diet. You do not have to cut them out completely. Just take lesser of these foods and eat more vegetables.
