Most of us are bored, others are even anxious, and we totally understand that at times, we cannot control our emotions. This pandemic is new to us and nobody knows the exact way on how we should cope up with it. However, if you are thinking of new hobbies to start, then we have a quick list for you. But before that, let’s share with you the reasons why a hobby could be helpful in these trying times.
Why are we recommending to start a new hobby?
- It calms our nerves
- You discover more about yourself
- You can use that new hobby to earn money
- It brings you joy
List of new hobbies to try
So who cares if you have two left feet? Maybe this is the right time that you learn new moves. You can either dance on your own, or invite your partner to dance with you. Good thing that there are a lot of videos online that can show you how to do it. And that best part is, no one will see if you make a fool of yourself.
Kidding aside, we recommend dancing because it involves a lot of movement. And this could also be your daily exercise.
Creating and writing music
You can try writing songs. If you have an old guitar or keyboard, it’s about time that you dust it off. What’s good about music is that it is therapeutic on its own. Plus, you are able to write down your thoughts, even your deepest feelings about the pandemic. With this new hobby, you are able to release your stress through writing, singing, and listening to your own songs.
Learn a new language
How about learning a new language? You don’t have to enroll in a class right away. You can download Duolingo and try to brush your Spanish, or Mandarin, or even French. It’s always a great idea to learn a new language as this allows you to communicate better with other people.
How about creating your own furniture? If you don’t have the heavy equipment at home, then you can start with the basic ones. Or if you don’t want to make something brand new, then fixing your old table or chairs should do the trick for now.
Drawing or Painting
Remember the good old’ days when people would bring their sketchpads or sketchbooks down the park and draw whatever their heart pleases? That hobby slowly declined over the years as more people became engaged in gadgets. However, we’ve noticed that others are now going back to drawing. Some are doing comic strips to entertain. Others are creating portraits or landscape paintings. While a few are drawing how they visualize the future. All of these are just amazing.
As we’ve said, nobody knows how to cope up in this pandemic. So if you feel that resting your brain and body will work best for you right now, then go ahead. But if you are ready to learn new things, then you can always choose from the hobbies above.
