So, you’ve been cheated on and it sucks BIG TIME! But you know what, as cliche as this may sound, getting your heart broken is not just about shedding buckets of tears. It can actually affect your health. If you want to learn more, then go ahead and read the rest of the post.
What happens if you get cheated on?
Apparently, it’s not just about sleepless nights. If you are not careful enough or if you drown yourself in that failed relationship, it can take a toll on your health. Here are some of the worst things that can happen.
Losing/Gaining unwanted weight
After a failed relationship, most especially when you were cheated on, you tend not to eat or to eat a lot. This depends on how you cope up with the situation. Regardless of what you do, not eating the right food and the right amount can result in physical changes. If that is not alarming enough, think about the risks of not eating healthy. Diabetes and heart diseases are just around the corner.
Some people will ask, “Isn’t this a good thing?”. But like in all cases, too much of anything is bad. When you force yourself to excessively work out, here are the things that can happen:
- Mood swings
- Decreased appetite
- Heart strains
- Weakened immune systems
- Kidney damage
This is self-explanatory, right? Drugs and alcohol are never good for you. If not addressed properly, it can lead to death.
Depression and anxiety
Your mental health is also at stake after being cheated on. You’d feel lonely, alone, and even sometimes worthless. If this happens, you’d feel extreme sadness. For others, it can lead to depression. And that’s where you badly need to take it seriously. If you think you are already suffering from it and your daily routine is greatly affected, it is a must that you seek professional help.
We don’t recommend it at all. This will just make the fire bigger and in the long run, you won’t feel better. What you need now is to love yourself more. Here are some of the things you can do.
Call up your friends and have a small party
Maybe it’s about time to gather up your friends and have a small yet clean get together. Cook with them, bake with them. Have a glass of wine and have a good time. Of course, we understand if, at times, you’d breakdown and cry. If your friends are real, they will be there to listen and to comfort you.
Learn new things
Enroll yourself in new classes and improve yourself. It doesn’t matter if it is dancing class, painting, diving, writing or pottery classes. Give it to yourself. Send your days and money for your own good and not on dates.
We know that this is easier said than done, and we are not saying that you have to do it right away. But when the right time comes, better forgive the person who cheated on you. It wouldn’t help if you hold on to that grudge. Live a life of positivity and you will soon attract the love that you deserve.
