While dad-bods became a thing recently, and a lot of women confessed that they find it attractive, let’s face it – it isn’t healthy. If you think you have a dad-bod, then it is time to change your lifestyle. Some of you are up for the challenge. However, there are still many who feel that it isn’t possible with all the responsibilities on their plate. Well, this post is for you. We are going to provide you with simple tips on how you can start living a healthy lifestyle again. We’re pretty sure you still want to get back in shape, right?
Tips for busy dads to stay fit
Look for an activity that you really love
We’ve talked to a number of dads who stopped working out and most of them reasoned that they simply find ‘gym workouts’ boring. The thing is, you don’t have to confine yourself in the gym. In fact, we encourage people to be active outdoors. Look for an activity that you love. Maybe you want to swim. Or perhaps you want to join a rock climbing team. Do a physical activity that you are passionate about and it will simply bring you happiness, and of course, better health.
Include ‘working out’ in your schedule
Whatever method you are using to schedule your activities, make sure to include working out. Think of it as having a regular appointment. The more that you schedule it, the more that you feel there is a need to do it. So start typing or writing on your planner as soon as you can.
Park your car at the far end
Most car owners would usually look for a parking space near their offices. Well, there are advantages to that of course. But it’s not so bad parking at the far end as well. By doing so, you are forced to walk and it helps you get back in shape. So the next time you can’t find a near parking spot, be thankful and just walk it out.
Ride a bike
Now, if your home is just near your office and you still drive your car, why don’t you choose a better transportation option – ride a bike. What’s good about this is that you are working out, and at the same time helping our planet.
Use your lunch break to exercise
During office breaks, most of us usually just sit down, browse the internet, or have a cigarette break. Now, it’s time to break these bad habits. What we recommend is to use half an hour of your lunch to do easy physical activities. You can go around the office or walk outside. This is much better than just doing almost nothing! Walk in a nearby park and enjoy the breeze.
Get up during TV commercials
And while you are watching your favorite TV series, make sure to have a break from it. Use the time to walk or to hit the treadmill, or to do some pushups. This is just a simple step, but far better than just lying down the couch.
If you are really willing to change your lifestyle and be fit, small changes can do big things. Start now and you will see the difference soon.
