Taking care of your hands
Below are some practical tips you can use so that your hands will stay in its best shape.
Check your soap
Washing is, of course, recommended. However, there are soaps which are harsh to the skin and that can affect your hands. It would be better to get a soap made from natural ingredients or those that are considered mild. Dove and Cetaphil are good brands to choose from. Just remember to use gentle products and avoid alcohol-based sanitizers.
Invest on a hand cream and use it every day
Think about this, you have different products for your hair, your face, your lips, even your armpit. Why don’t have a product specifically made for your hands? A good cream can take away or reduce your hand cracks. What are the best products to recommend?
- Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Concentrated Hand Cream
- Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream
- L’Occitane Almond Delicious Hands
Another solution is to exfoliate your hands. Good news because you can create your own scrub. All you need are olive oil and sugar. This is so you can remove the dead skin from your hands. Do this once a week.
Guard your hands
It is not only during winter that you have to protect your hands. Remember, the sun can cause damages too. You should put sunblock not just on your face, but also your arms and hands if you will be exposed to the sun, or perhaps will spend the day at the beach. Additionally, if you are going to have an activity that apparently requires gloves like gardening or fixing your cars, always wear a pair.
Make it a habit to check your nails
It is also important that you check your nails for any discoloration. While some of it are just from small injuries, there are irregularities that you have to watch out for. Observe if there are dark spots. In worst cases, that could mean melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer. Thus, for any discoloration, you should always consult an expert.
Lookout for your cuticles
Make sure that there are no small tears because it will be more susceptible to swelling and infection.
Exercise your hands
